About NEEC

The Naval Engineering Education Center (NEEC) is a unique organization for the development of talented engineers necessary to lead the Navy forward. It is our goal to provide an educational experience unparalleled in terms of student, educator, professional, private, industrial and military cooperation. The NEEC provides young engineers and scientists access to projects of interest and importance early in their academic careers which builds knowledge and enthusiasm for the field. These students are also partnered with trained professionals in the military and private sector to guide them through current projects and to offer insight to post-education opportunities.

Led by the University of Michigan, the NEEC is composed of the U.S. Navy, The American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE), The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) and 15 institutions of higher education all of which are based in the U.S.A. The NEEC leverages this collection of partnerships to share knowledge and resources in addition to creating a consistent learning experience regardless of where you obtain your Naval Engineering education.
