U.S. Navy Strategy, Capability and Technologies in a New Defense Environment

Thursday, March 29, 2012 - 2:00pm - 3:00pm - Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library - University of Michigan

Mr. Fireman’s presentation will provide a summary of the current U.S. Department of Defense and U.S. Navy mission, vision, and goals as it enters a new strategy to align with the current fiscal environment while remaining capable of protecting our nation.  As the Navy evolves, there are many challenges that require a knowledgeable and dedicated team of professionals who will shape today’s Navy into the Navy of the future.  While current naval engineers are making breakthroughs in technology, design tools, and weapon system performance – the narrowing fiscal reality will require even more strategic thinking.  See where the Navy stands today and learn how you could influence it tomorrow.
